My turn

Quite awhile ago I wrote about Mark I guess this week it was my turn. Over Valentine's weekend I got a fever and it took about 24 hrs. to break and then I developed large lumps sticking out of my throat. I thought about going to the doc. (I haven't found one since we've moved, and after my essure procedure, there is a general lack of confidence in doctor's knowledge.) So a couple of days later the doc I decided on gave my a call back, by then I was feeling better and decided to skip the visit. Well the next weekend the lumps were coming back and my ear felt like it was on the verge of exploding. So I called the doc back and the said they could meet with me March 10 for a meet and greet and after that I could get an appointment.

Several co-workers mentioned an urgent care around the corner that they used so I decided to check it, since by now I was having problems swallowing. I thought for sure I had an ear infection and would get some antibiotics and be on my merry way. Well the doc there said, "Oh I can't help you.... this is too far you need to get to the ER and get some shots and an IV." All I heard was hospital and shots and started crying. Pain I can handle, but IVs and shots, OH NO!! The poor doc looked at me and said, "don't you have kids?" I said well yes, but I didn't have epidurals and I didn't have an IV with my last, only with the first and only because I hyperventilated. I think she felt bad for me, but thankful she also worked at the hospital that we use with our insurance, so she called ahead and saved me a room. This was great, because it seems when I have to wait and sit and think the needles I just start freaking out more!

So I called Mark and the way to hospital and told him we had a slight change in plans and he would have to pick up the kids.... this made me feel horrible, because I told the kids I would take them to Dora at the local restaurant and Mark was going to paint at the new house, but plans are made for changing right! By time Mark got to the hospital they decided I would have to stay overnight, because my throat was abscessed (sp?) and they need to wait and see if the steriods and IV antibotics would take care of it or it would need to drained. Gees! The only other times I have been to the hospital I left with a happy little bundle, so this was comletely out of my comfort zone!

Thankfully the steriods and antibotics worked and it did not need to be drained, so as long as I keep feeling better I am in the clear! I think they called it some kind of abscessed cellulitis..... maybe I have to much fat in my throat----hahaha. Anyways, so I sit at home for another day... slightly bored and sort of wishing I was at work. I guess I took my health for granted and I do miss it... a great deal!!!

AJ's 4th Birthday

We celebrated AJ's 4th birthday one day early with Mark's family. His cousin's birthday was yesterday, so we all got together for a TON of cake and ice cream for the boys! I asked AJ what kind of cake he wanted and he said chocolate with chocolate frosting with a motorcyle and a cave. (A cave... I went over this several times to make sure I was understanding.) Not being the creative type this is what I came up with.... it is in this pan so I could carry it over to my sil's house.

He seems happy with the outcome! (don't worry the dora cup is not his)

Notice to the side.... AJ got a bow & arrows for his birthday.... I know it is shocking!

AJ in his room (He had quite an issue with why he was not getting the biggest room with the bathroom.) His new room is quite a bit smaller than his current room.

the living room is already getting messy

the kitchen.... we plan to do some remodeling in here

another view of the kitchen....

when you come in the front door this is what you see

here it is......
Obviously a lot of painting ahead of us and figuring out what goes where. Hopefully we are going to have a play room in the basement eventually and update the kitchen cabinets and redo some flooring. There are couple of pics I must of deleted of the 1/2 bath and laundry room. But hopefully I'll be adding more as time goes by and improvements are made (:
We are so happy and excited about this opportunity!!

Another year and more changes

I need to get the camera out.... the kids are changing and I haven't taken pics since Christmas. We took a trip in the beginning of January and it was so fun.... again though I forgot the camera! After the trip we found out about an excellent offer to buy homes in the area. (We are not in an excatly an up and coming area!) But Mark found an amazing house in a great area for a super deal ~ so after being here for 11 months we have found a house and as it stands right now we will be closing next week!! I feel so much peace about this and I'm so excited to get completely unpacked (:
