OUR HOUSE!

So our house is sold!!! Only 4 weeks and the deal is done (well almost). Our realtor was awesome so if you are looking let me know and I'll get you the info. Feb. 8 we officially find out if all the buyers financing went through, so I'm reserved until then, being the realistic pessimist that I am (: But I have to say as soon as I got that phone call I felt really excited about finding our new house. We are going to look at one tomorrow that seems to be a real possiblity so I'll keep you updated. In the mean time I really don't think the usb cord works in this tower so no pics for awhile. Not that I have anything to post, the kids and I have been so sick and I actually found a medicine that AJ HATES!! I realized this after I tried to get him to take it and he spit it back in my face..... real nice ~ I just love when the kids are sick.

Back to the house though, we will be closing for sure by the end of Feb, so we will see you all soon (:

in with the in-laws

So this post is a little late in coming and will probably include multiple stories.... we finally made it back to see Mark and stay with his parents. This was a quite a trip to make it here. I'm sure there should have been another adult in the car, but me the 2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 fish made and everyone is alive and well. I really can't believe both fish survived the almost 6 hour drive (that's another thing ~ I swear I didn't speed one bit, but I made it in 5 1/2 hours!!), but Sticky and Funny have made it here and it's been a few days and they are great.

TK almost cut off her toe (I type this realizing it is my responsibility). She found a brass candlestick with a candle in it and just kept playing with.... after many no-nos and moving her to different locations she whipped it off the end table and dropped it on her toe, which cut open the end of her toe and toe nail. I just started crying.... in case I'm not going through enough stress, but now this. My first thought was to yank AJ out of bed from his nap and rush to the emergency room, but it stopped bleeding and seemed to be ok, so I settle for a call to the doctor. I don't know if this is just a mom thing, but I really can't handle when my kids get hurt. She was walking around shortly after though and only cries about when she sees it, so I think we are ok. Thankfully she left her sock on that foot all day, but anytime she heard the word "toe" she would look down, but only she the foot that was fine (she took that sock off). It was kind of funny to watch her face because she couldn't put it all together.

Here's a pic of my girl in her new baby legs.... I love these things: babylegs.net
ok.... I can't seem to get the usb cord to work in this computer, so we'll try that another day, but if you have a girl you should check out the legwarmers on that site, I LOVE THEM!!

Well this is shorter than I originally thought, but I did just spend 15 min. trying to load the pic, so I'm off to find something new and fun to do with the kids tomorrow in this town!

Ruff Ruff Night

Louie has been sleeping in AJ's bed lately and AJ has been taking that thing to bed (I don't know what it's called) that you can put over your eyes to block out light. He doesn't want to wear, but likes to take it to bed. Well I don't know what happened last night, but this is what Lou looked like when he jumped out of bed this morning.

the trucker named Princess

AJ has a recent obsession with knowing EVERYONE's name..... the cashier, the people at restaurants (eating, working, using the restroom), anyone we see he asks what their name is. Well we were sitting at a red light the other day next to a large semi truck. AJ asked what that man's name driving the truck was. I told him I didn't know because everyone has different names and we don't know everyone we see. Well after being asked the question about 15 more times, I blurted out I don't know, maybe his name his Hank, Bill or Aaron. AJ looked at me while shaking his head and said, "no mom, his name is Princess I think." I'm sure the trucker would have been thrilled (:

AJ repeatedly asked for a trumpet and a plane for Christmas. So he got a trumpet from us and a plane from his Nana & Papa. Now whenever he sees one of those items he says no.... I wanted a ball and a candle for Christmas. So yesterday I thought I'll ask him what he wants for his birthday and surely he'll say this ball (we own a million!) and a candle. When I asked he looked around and said, "Well we don't have a piano so lets get one of those." I couldn't believe it.... wouldn't you know it would be my kid asking for a piano. You see growing up my parents MADE me take piano and violin and I HATED it!!! I just wanted to play soccer and they wanted me to do the music thing. So I was hoping my kid would want the soccer thing, but I guess just like the blinking shoes he will choose his own path ~ it will not be for me to decide. But later on that night when I asked him again he responded that he wanted another shirt. I asked him what he wanted on the shirt and he said "a hairdryer" Yes a hairdryer....

Today is officially the last day the kids will be allowed to play with my cell phone. I've always had a pretty whatever attitude about what they play with, which has been ok because AJ is so laid back and always listened pretty well. TK is apparently another story. This child needs all the safety precautions we have and then some! And she doesn't listen at all..... she will either scream at you or nod like she agrees and then find a new quieter, sneakier way to do it. That's my girl (: So we were sitting in the living room and she was playing with the phone and then put it back on the table, so I went to the kitchen for a drink and I hear her saying "uh-o, uh-o". I go into the bathroom which is on the other side of the living and in through the master bedroom and there she is looking at a bucket of mop water that I should have emptied, but I thought was out of the way, and she is watching my phone float down to the bottom of the bucket. All my hair drying attempts did not bring it back to life..... so I'm off tomorrow am for a new phone. AJ has put in a request that I please get a black one this time. Apparently he wasn't a fan of the pink one.

Here some pics of a friend's today ~ AJ wanted to read her some books before she went to bed.

Our day

I decided take pics of the day after reading my friend's blog, so here is what we did today:

"Where's breakfast mom..... and remember we don't like the same things"

Now it's nap time for TK and playtime for AJ:

TK is up and time for snacks and Word World, (I justify tv, since it allows me to make lunch!) And a shot of TK with her "zombie" walk... she is really getting the hang of walking, but I think still a little shy about it. (And yes, my kids do seem do go through multiple outfits in the same day.)

After lunch and more play then naptime for kids and chore time for mom! More boxes to pack and floors to mop:

TK is always the first up and is very excited about having everything to herself!
Then it's dinner time ~ I'm trying to diet, since I'm having a time losing this baby weight..... but tonight I decided to mix some mac & cheese with veggie chili and top it with more cheese.... we loved it!

Then baths and bedtime..... ahhh! We miss you Mark!!
I realize the pics don't really match the caption, but it's late and I'm not good at this.... so hope you can figure it out ):
Here are a couple things that happened that I didn't get on camera (and just as well!):
AJ was taking a potty break and I asked him if he was pooping and he said, "No mom, my poop is still loading."
TK is finally cutting another tooth... for the first time in about 7 months!
AJ goes to bed a little bit after TK, so after she was in bed he wanted to know if we were going to exercise.... I started last night and he was upset he didn't get to do it, since he choose computer games, so tonight he was all excited to do Pilates. It was great to watch! After about 10 min. though he decided it was time to call dad!
Last story ~ AJ decided to have a complete meltdown today at naps, because of the "alligator noise". I have no idea what he is talking about, but you can see the total look of terror in his eyes, when it comes up. I have no idea what to do about this, so I would love any suggestions! I explained that no alligators live around here, so he said, "no it is an alligator noise".... I guess to distinguish that it wasn't an alligator, just a noise. The only thing I can think off is the storm last night, but he never woke up so I'm not sure. Anyways he is finally sleeping, but with his nightlight on, reading lamp on, the curtains open, the light outside his door on and me coming back to check him in 20 minutes.... I hope this doesn't last long!!

Shoes

I HATE those shoes with lights on them.... you know, the ones that flash repeatedly and are SOOO annoying. I had always hoped that somehow my kids were surely share in my disdain of those shoes, but not to be. AJ has on several occasions asked for the shoes that have lights. I don't even know who he saw that had them, but they stuck in his head. So today I didn't really plan on buying shoes, but was looking. Well as soon as he saw the shoes he started asking, "Where are they mom.... where are the shoes with lights?" So we bought them. I was so sure they wouldn't fit, because his foot has always been to wide to wear normal shoes, but I guess something has changed, because those ridiculous shoes fit. Oh well, at least I got away with out having to buy ones that had Thomas, or Superman or someother character on them.....

The year 2007

I've read a couple of blogs that sum of the year and I thought it was rather inspiring.... not that mine will inspire, but I like the reflection. First of all, I can't believe it's over. The year was incredibly fast. Each year I understand more and more why the "adults" always used to say, "My time flies!" I couldn't agree more. I think it is having kids that makes me feel that way.... I always want a little more time to do more with or for them, or maybe just more time for a second chance to get it right!

Anyways here is what I remember of the last year (and I would have put pics on, but I at my in-laws and I'm not that familiar with their computer and don't really want to mess with it).
  • I learned that your "mom" friends and the best ever and can help you through any situation and generally have the best advice ever! Thank you Thank you Thank you to all of you!!
  • Mark got 2 new jobs this year.... one a new position in July that was great and then one in December that is moving us back to Michigan
  • The only time all your house projects will be done is when you put your house on the market.... I think my house looks better now then the day we bought it!
  • AJ is done with diapers ~ pretty much did that on his own. Very exciting to have no diapers for him, even at night!
  • AJ also learned to proficiently work both a desktop and laptop computer. I realize this may not be something you should teach your 2 year old, but it was a great help when I was trying to breastfeed TK or put her to bed. Thank you pbskids.org!
  • TK taught me more about parenting that I though I already had learned.... each child really is different. TK was not a co-sleeper and it took me quite some time to figure that out, but she sleeps through the night great now..... way ahead of AJ, so who cares if she doesn't want to walk! I'll take sleeping anyday (:
  • I'm done watching Lucy! I love Lucy and think of her mom has a friend, but watching kids is not the job for me.... so I'm very excited to try something new. I was excited to go back to my old job and work for my previous employer, but plans changed after we decided to move to MI, so now I'm just going to settle in here.

Well I'm sure many more wonderful things happened in that year, but at this hour nothing is coming to me.... maybe I'll get an update in a couple of days with some pics. And CB ~ I'm still going to do the post with the pics of my day.... I love it!
